Current Employment

Currently you can find me in the ePortfolio department teaching students and faculty how to build their own ePortfolios or professional ePortfolios in both one-on-one settings and larger class settings. I also help improve marketing for the department, help update our sites, create handouts and video tutorials, and overall try to improve the ePortfolio experience for all members at SLCC. The gallery above showcases some of the things I've created or done for the ePortfolio department.

I also "graduated" from Salt Lake Community College's
President's Leadership Institute(2015/2016).

Adventure is out there!

Hobbies

As stated on the welcome page, I like to travel, take pictures, create art, play with makeup, and watch movies & TV shows. Above is a slideshow of some of those things.

I enjoy designing and beautifying things and that's one of the main reasons why I love to do art, photography, and designing so much.

Once upon a time, I used to play music.... The ability to hear and enjoy to music was one of the reasons why I wanted to pursue audiology. The inability to listen to music is something no one should have to live without.

Advocacy & Volunteer

I have the wonderful opportunity with my employment to engage and get involved in the community every year. Volunteer work I've done in the past includes painting a gym for the Boys and Girls Club and assisting dog adoption meet and greets at the various NKUT Super Adoption event with Best Friends Animal Society. I've also lead a couple different service events:

I have chosen to specifically partner with Best Friends for my Community Engagement Benefit at SLCC. When I began to seriously consider who to partner with, I had two main things in mind that I wanted to work with: animals or community gardening. I wanted to work with animals because at the time I really wanted a pet, but didn't feel I had the time and space for one. I also wanted to get into gardening, so I figured that volunteering at a community garden would be a good place to start. Ultimately, things just worked out better with Best Friends and I'm happy that I can bring my husband along and get him involved too!

What I appreciate most about Best Friends is their "no-kill" policy and their efforts to "save them all". I love that Best Friends really tries to work with their adoptees to rehab them so they can be adoptable where appropriate. It's also great that they allow others from the community to participate in their efforts and they are a huge advocate for animals nationwide.

In Spring 2019, I was nominated for the Thayne Center Presidential Awards for Community Engagement - Staff Award. I have no idea who nominated me or that I had even been nominated, but I feel so touched and honored to even be considered for that award!

During my undergraduate studies, I also completed an advocacy project in my Social Health & Diversity class where I was able to serve individuals with special needs at Camp Kostopulos. Camp Kostopulos is a camp where individuals with disabilities can have fun doing various activities such as swimming, horse riding, and fishing.
